Announced through the opening ceremonies of ExileCon 2019 at New Zealand earlier today, POE Currency 2 marks the fourth"mega expansion" of this free-to-play action RPG. Citing the problems with sequels dividing an existing community in 2, Managing Director Chris Wilson disclosed that the teams wanted follow-up to their name will reside within the Path of Exile as a campaign.

Upgrades, things, and growth content will be usable across the two campaigns, as will content purchased with microtransactions. However, Grinding Gear Games are treating this as a sequel release, and that includes updates to the game's engine, changes to other developments, animations, along with the skill system. Each of these attributes will stretch back to the original campaign, which makes this an update across the board.

Through an on-stage gameplay demo, Chris Wilson showed off the game's new graphics, a new Skill Gem socketing system, and a number of the armor and weapons you'll find through the brand new content. A character beginning in Path of Exile 2's effort can pick from 19 classes that are new, whilst Path of Exile specialists will keep their elderly class distinctions. Path of Exile 2 doesn't have a release date as of yet, although Chris did mention the team plans on another year of updates before launch the beta to get the sequel effort.

As work on the sequel continues the campaign will be getting incremental upgrades all throughout 2020. Regardless of the long wait, the action of POE Trade Currency two is available to convention-goers as a playable demo on the show floor. Grinding Gear Games, which will be 80% owned by Chinese conglomerate Tencent, has been operating on Path of Exile because its release in October 2013. Earlier this year, the game, which is fully free-to-play, came in 2017 and PlayStation 4 to Xbox One.
